This initiative, which began in 2021 when Patriann Smith, a then assistant professor in Literacy Studies at the ÎÞÂëרÇø College of Education, along with international partners, secured a $3.6 million grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), culminated in a RISE Caribbean Conference held at the ÎÞÂëרÇø Patel Center for Global Solutions in 2023.

NSF Grant awarded to Dr. Yavuz of ÎÞÂëרÇø’s Engineering Computer Science Department for SATUQ Project

Dr. Attila A. Yavuz of ÎÞÂëרÇø’s Computer Science and Engineering Department has been awarded a $364,117 NSF grant to advance cybersecurity for integrated satellite-terrestrial networks. His SATUQ project focuses on quantum-resistant cryptography and decentralized security to safeguard critical infrastructure and emerging tech like 6G.
