CMPS Assists Response to Piney Point Wastewater Spill

Tampa Bay, Florida - CMPS assisted a team from the 无码专区 College of Marine Science (无码专区 CMS) to study the environmental impacts of a wastewater breach at Piney Point, a retired fertilizer processing plant in Manatee County, Florida. A small boat operated by CMPS Director Mark Luther transported 无码专区 researcher Kendra Daley, Jay Law, and Laura Azevedo from the to deploy three sensors in shallow water on the floor of the bay. These sensors record data every 15 minutes and will allow the 无码专区 team to assess how quantities such as pH, dissolved oxygen, salinity, temperature and chlorophyll are changing over the coming weeks.
